Abstrakt

The studies using Mincer equations are generally applied to cross-sectional data at the micro-level. There are however limited studies conducted with macro or panel data for wage equations. Pseudo panel data methods can be applied to empirical studies by creating cohorts from repeated cross-sectional data in the absence of genuine panel data. Difference in both the human and labour resources according to the spatial positions may also affect the prediction of the wage equations. We aim to introduce the application of spatial pseudo panel models by creating cohorts according to the birth years of employees and regions in which they live from the Turkish household labour survey for the period 2010-2015. As a result, we find that the spatial autocorrelation model is appropriate for wage equations of Turkey. We also find that return of education on wages is 11% while return of experience on wages is 4%.

Abstrakt

The subject of this article concerns the growing issue of implementing the concept of social responsibility in the activities of integrated energy entities. This work includes the performance of a budgetary analysis of the national leading company, in terms of expenses associated with corporate social responsibility (CSR). The article presents the analysis of source literature, as well as identifies stakeholder activities. The introduction includes an explanation of the concept of CSR, its global approach along with the justification for the need to implement the concept of CSR in the strategy of industry entities. The following were used, among others, to perform the research: elements of financial and non-financial reporting, i.e. reports of a vertically integrated energy company – Capital Group Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA, over the years 2013–2017. The data obtained from distributed sources were used. The company’s activities in social and environmental directions were identified, and the stakeholder groups of these initiatives were determined. The main purpose of this article was to estimate the level of expenditure associated with CSR in the context of the company’s general budget. The article emphasizes the role of the PGE Foundation as a recognizable point of company activity in the scope of CSR (the participation of individual group companies in financing the foundation was presented). The analysis of CSR expenditure included: the amount of taxes paid, costs of employee benefits and assets of the social services fund, and environmental costs.

Abstrakt

Transformer efficiency and regulation, are to be maintained at maximum and minimum respectively by optimal loading, control, and compensation. Charging of electric vehicles at random charging stations will result in uncertain loading on the distribution transformer. The efficiency reduces and regulation increases as a consequence of this loading. In this work, a novel optimization strategy is proposed to map electric vehicles to a charging station, that is optimal with respect to the physical distance, traveling time, charging cost, the effect on transformer efficiency and regulation. Consumer and utility factors are considered for mapping electric vehicles to charging stations. An Internet of Things platform is used to fetch the dynamic location of electric vehicles. The dynamic locations are fed to a binary optimization problem to find an optimal routing table that maps electric vehicles to a charging station. A comparative study is carried out, with and without optimization, to validate the proposed methodology.

Abstrakt

Coexisting self-excited and hidden attractors for the same set of parameters in dissipative dynamical systems are more interesting, important, and difficult compared to other classes of hidden attractors. By utilizing of nonlinear state feedback controller on the popular Sprott- S system to construct a new, unusual 4D system with only one nontrivial equilibrium point and two control parameters. These parameters affect system behavior and transformation from hidden attractors to self-excited attractors or vice versa. As compared to traditional similar kinds of systems with hidden attractors, this system is distinguished considering it has (��-2) positive Lyapunov exponents with maximal Lyapunov exponent. In addition, the coexistence of multi-attractors and chaotic with 2-torus are found in the system through analytical results and experimental simulations which include equilibrium points, stability, phase portraits, and Lyapunov spectrum. Furthermore, the anti-synchronization realization of two identical new systems is done relying on Lyapunov stability theory and nonlinear controllers strategy. lastly, the numerical simulation confirmed the validity of the theoretical results.

Abstrakt

With the populist tide on the rise, comparisons of contemporary right-wing governments to fascist regimes are increasingly common. The rise of the populist right-wing politics has created a number of reactions, using either new or established forms of political resistance. One of such examples is the anti-fascist movement whose strength grows in many national contexts. The recently observed political swing to the right results also in a radicalization of politics. Radical actors intersect and cooperate with moderate ones, influence one another and bring new ideas and repertoires of contention to the streets and into mainstream politics. This trend can be observed in Poland where the 2015 elections (presidential and parliamentary) resulted in the radicalization of the mainstream discourse. This article focuses on the case study of the broadly understood anti-racist movement in Poland that has recently had to remodel itself to face new challenges – in particular the institutionalization of xenophobic rhetoric and the growth of the far-right sector – and has undergone substantial changes in general. The article presents the internal radicalmoderate dynamics within the specific context of the anti-fascist movement in Poland. In particular, it explores the role of changes in political opportunity structures for the reinvigoration of the anti-fascist movement in Poland, radicalization in some of its sectors, and change in its priorities and focus.

Abstrakt

Marta Hirschprung (1903–1942?) ― urodzona w Krakowie dziennikarka, literatka, tłumaczka, wydawczyni pisma dla dzieci „Okienko na Świat”. Parała się działalnością publicystyczną przez całe życie. Najważniejszym tematem artykułu jest ustalenie nieznanych faktów z jej biogramu oraz opisanie jej pracy redakcyjnej na łamach „Gazety Żydowskiej” w latach 1940–1942, szczególnie zaś — prowadzonego przez nią dodatku dla dzieci „Naszej Gazetki”/ „Gazetka dla Dzieci i Młodzieży” (1940–1941).
