Abstract
The article discusses the relations between contrastive linguistics and applied phraseology.
Applied phraseology, and particularly phraseodidactics and phraseotranslation,
respond to the vast needs of the contemporary world in terms of effi cient
didactics and successful translation of the broadly conceived phraseological structures.
The author demonstrates how the disciplines in question may use the developments
of contrastive linguistics in order to expand their own areas of interest.
